Biography

Luisa Barreto, PsyD, is a staff psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and families at McLean’s Child and Adolescent OCD Institute (OCDI Jr.). She specializes in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy for youth with severe anxiety and OCD. She oversees the doctoral practicum training program at the OCDI Jr. with Dr. Maria Fraire. Dr. Barreto also creates psychoeducational content in Portuguese for the McLean Hospital School Consultation Service’s Culturally Responsive Student and Caregiver Educational Resources project (CRESCER).

As a graduate student, Dr. Barreto completed practicum training at the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program (MAMP), the McLean OCD Institute (adult program) the Arlington School, a therapeutic high school at McLean Hospital, and at Tufts Medical Center Outpatient Psychiatry. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, with a rotation at the Children’s Specialized Hospital. She then completed her post-doctoral fellowship at OCDI Jr.
