Biography
Laura D. Mead, MSEd, MBA, an educator and administrator with 25 years of experience in special education, is currently the co-director of Pathways Academy, McLean Hospital’s school for students on the autism spectrum often with co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses.
Ms. Mead’s background is in psychology, special education, and visual art. She has taught elementary and middle school special education to students with social pragmatic, social-emotional, and behavioral challenges in both public and therapeutic school settings. Her interests lie in relationship-based therapeutic learning environments, empathy as a key to effective teaching, neurodiversity awareness, and educator support and retention.
