Biography
Emma H. Moscardini, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in McLean’s Behavioral Health Partial Hospital Program (BHP) and an instructor in psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She is the director of training and education at BHP, where she co-directs the Adult Psychology Practicum training program, and is the adult track coordinator for the McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology.
Her work focuses on suicide prevention, with expertise in interventions such as brief cognitive behavioral therapy for suicide prevention (B-CBT) and the collaborative assessment and management of suicidality (CAMS). Her research examines contemporary theories of suicide, treatment outcomes, and provider decision-making in acute care. She also directs BHP’s research program, which includes routine treatment outcome monitoring of over 600 patients annually in service of improving care, informing decision-making, and advancing implementation-focused research in acute settings. Dr. Moscardini is involved in developing clinical protocols, training staff, and supervising psychology trainees, with a focus on ethical, evidence-based care.
